Lake Pend Oreille, at 43 miles long, is the perfect setting for water sports of all kinds, whether you just want to take a dip in the refreshing waters or try your hand at wakeboarding. Hiking
There are more than 100 miles of trails within driving distance of Sandpoint, where you'll find waterfalls, wildlife, and spectacular scenery. From an easy 2.1 mile stroll on the Mineral Point Interpretive Trail to a more strenuous summit climb to Fisher Peak, hiking awaits for everyone.

Nearly a dozen campgrounds dot the area around Sandpoint, featuring amenities from showers to covered picnic areas. Visitors enjoy activities such as boating, canoeing, and disc golf at these beautiful sites.

Snowmobiling
You can begin your snowmobiling adventure behind the powdery peak of Selkirk Mountain at 6,400 feet, or you can try any of the exhilarating trails throughout the area. The Priest Lake Winter Recreation Trails wind through the Idaho Panhandle National Forests, and are ideal for both on-trail and off-trail snowmobiling.
